We were hoping for an early start on this hike to maybe catch the sunrise from the peak, but unfortunately the gates to the parking lot didn’t open until sunrise. The hike was beautiful nonetheless, with views of surrounding peaks the entire way up, catching the morning sun at different angles. There was more plant life than I was expecting. It was freezing and windy at the top, but 360 views of Mcdowell Mountain preserve and the surrounding valleys made it worth it!
