Sunrise on Rose Peak – 6 of 6!

Hiked up and up and up and then up some more to Maggie’s Half Acre. Was NOT expecting TEMPS TO DROP into the 30’s at night but survived until morning. Got up at 5 AM, had coffee and struck camp. Didn’t have enough time to take trail so I bushwhacked straight uphill as a shortcut and made it to Rose Peak in time for sunrise ????.

NO BUGS either day. I guess it was too windy and cold for them. Rose Peak seems to be in the flight path from SFO or Oakland… loud planes all evening.

Took Murietta Falls detour on way back. Very cool. Was pretty happy to see a tarantula on that part of the trail… was all worth the extra vertical ???? (totaled 6300 ft vertical the two days)… even though my knees are trashed now.
