Was an overcast day with rain predicted. Started hike at 830, trail was not muddy, ground was firm, lots of green. Meadowlarks were singing freely on the way up. At top, drizzle started and rained all the way down. By the end, trail was mucky and heavy with clay mud. Pup did not like it in his paws.
