After two rocky desert hikes in Sedona, this well-maintained Forest Service trail to Kendrick Lookout was a pleasure. The switchbacks made the ascent tolerable even with the added altitude. Great views over to Humphreys Peak and distant glimpses of the Grand Canyon North Rim. Took 45 minutes to absorb the panorama while picnicking on the concrete platform before descending through the aftermath of the Pumpkin Fire. An early start meant plenty of shade and trekking poles recommended. A great training hike for Humphreys tomorrow.
