Tam or Bust: The Long Way Up

Started the morning at the Dipsea Trailhead around 7:30 a.m. with my step-sister — fog thick in the air and everything quiet and still. We hiked 17 miles round-trip, winding through redwoods, spotting banana slugs, mushrooms of every shape and color, and even two foxes along the way.

By the time we reached the East Peak of Mount Tamalpais, the sun finally broke through, revealing a hazy view of the SF Bay. We had lunch at the fire lookout tower, taking in the moment before heading back down. Finished right around sunset at 4:30 p.m., tired but happy.
