The ancient caldera

My hiking buddy, Stacy and I had done Picacho Peak the day before so our legs and upper body were a bit tired and sore. This hike was perfect for the second day. It was a nice incline into the canyon. The rock walls were a deep red in color and the formations were beautiful. The weather was perfect and again, the wildflowers were abundant. Water was in the stream and slopes of the canyon were green.  We got there early to beat the traffic.
