Started bright and early- I believe we arrived at the parking lot around 6 and it was already pretty full. The first mile or so is killer, but overall this hike was comparable to SJ and SB in difficulty.
It was eerie to see the damn age from the Apple Fire and the El Dorado fire broke out when we were about an hour and a half from the peak. We decided to keep going despite other hikers turning around. Called a ranger from the peak and we assured we’d be safe to descend the same route.
I could not have complete this journey without the two that roped me into- Aaron and Jen. I am so grateful for their support, encouragement, and many many laughs along the way.
looking forward to completing this challenge again next year.
