The bitter end…

Took the Palm Springs Ariel Tram up to Long Valley and then spent the next 5/6 hours hiking a very scenic and well kept trail to the peak of Mt. San Jacinto.  The trail is a long, climb up out of the Long Valley area and not really steep at all.  Once near the peak you lose the trail and it becomes a rock scrabble to the top.  Weather was perfect and the hike back to the tram pleasant.  The steepest part of the trail is the last climb up to the tram itself, very poorly designed this part it.  But overall a fun trail with a pint of beer waiting in Palms Springs below.
