The Bugs Won at Santiago Peak

The trail to Santiago Peak is not marked at all.  We even had problems following the hiking guy’s guide.  We made a one mile mistake and backtracked and ended up hiking most of the way on the fire road.  We found the trail on the last mile and hiked that way up, but on the return took the fire road the whole way.

Thank goodness we were warned about the bugs!!! This hike would have been much worse if we did not have bug nets!  Do not attempt this trail without one, it will save your sanity.

Also, there is no summit sign so you just gotta take your selfie with the towers in the background!
