The trail is still mostly snow covered, but the road up is clear and drivable without chains or 4wd. A few spots of soft snow on the trail, but mostly packed snow and easy to follow the footprints to the peak. We packed, but didn’t use, spikes. I would recommend poles, however.

The views were amazing from up top! We were able to see all the way to the Sierra-Nevada range.

This was a nice, short, post-Wilson (yes, 2nd trip up Wilson the day before) hike but the snow and elevation gave it a little bit of umph.

Last, the traffic was AWFUL! I love how chill trails are on weekdays, but we spent probably 9 hours in the car Thursday (came from San Diego). I’m not sure I’ll be able to take another weekday drive like that! This was the farthest of the 12, so at least i can cross it off my list.

  1. I’m having a hard time finding a trail guide for this peak. How far is the hike and how much elevation gain?
