The First of the SoCal 6-Pack…As In Years Before
First of the 2025 Six Pack of Peaks for me (as was in 2024 and 2023), and it was a reasonable one. It is a bit long at around 10 miles out and back with about 1800+ ft of elevation gain.
The parking lot in the back was closed, and so was the Candy shop. There was still some parking area on the side of the road.
Not shaded most of the way. Gentle up and down slope without any serious challenge until the last 0.36 miles as other reviewers have also said. As a matter of fact there is a mile-market sign, which even though does not say it, but is an indication that the challenge is about to begin. Quire doable, just expect it.
The summit is underwhelming. There is a small area with lots of boulders and a bunch of people. Good views if you look in the right direction, and if it is not too crowded, which it was not this day.
Enjoyed it and I do recommend this trail as a start to the 6-pack if you are doing that, or just for the heck of it. Why not? It is there! 🙂
