The Hardest Mile of the Six-Pack on Mount Sizer
Also on this hike
Took on Mount Sizer as the bonus seventh peak, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Took the Monument Trail to Hobbs Road route and let’s just say, if you know, you know. The 6th mile alone had over 1,000 ft of gain, and it hit like a wall.
This was hands-down the hardest climb of the challenge for me. I had to stop a few times to catch my breath, reset my legs, and convince myself I was having fun but honestly? I was. There’s something really satisfying about pushing through a hike that doesn’t hand anything to you.
The trail was remote, peaceful, and in good condition. And while I was definitely feeling the burn, I left the summit thinking, I want to do that again but faster.
