The labradoodle, mountain lion, and the ranger

Interesting hike with temperatures around 32 nearly all the way up. Winds were around 30KT with gusts to 40KT near the top which made it difficult to hear my buddy at times. He brought his dog and unleashed it for a while until a nice park ranger drove up in his pickup truck to notify us that there was a mountain lion with two cubs on the other side of the ridge, and to ensure the dog was leashed at all times. Anyway, there was some thick frost on the trees that we walked under about halfway up and as we were on our way down, a combination of high winds and warming temperatures shedded the frost onto us as we traversed the canopy. Overall a good hike and well maintained trail!
