The Mountain Was All Ours Today!

We started at 6:20 a.m. no one else was parked (even when we came down)! We had the whole mountain to ourselves! This is a very long and hard climb. The first two miles are single track trail and a lot of climbing, but really pretty views. The last 4.50 miles are all on a fire road, but the climbing on miles 2-5 is soooooooo long! We arrived at the summit and chatted a while with the ranger that was manning the lookout tower. He was happy for the company! It got pretty hot… in the low 80s. You’ll want to go as early as possible to beat the heat! It’s mostly all full sun except for a short section at about mile 5.5.
