Started out at 7am. Vertical climb was tough and the heat about 9am added to the toughness. But we did it nonetheless. Around mile 5.25 (from Laura court trail entrance) we encountered a juvenile rattlesnake laying across the trail. When he sensed my hiking partners and I, he lifted his head and slithered back into the brush.
