The Saga : El Cajon and Capitan

Hiked with my new friend KG from Corte.

Parked in the lot (should not have) and started by 8am.  Restroom is at the true trailhead up the road from the parking lot.

Going out we were feeling pretty good about the trail, but had heard most don’t like it. Ran into quite a few people on the trail.  Made it to the top by 12:20pm. Had lunch. Heading down I went quickly so I could hit El Capitan too, my partner was hurting so she did not and headed down without me.

I managed to catch up to her but rand down a good portion of it. Wasn’t sure if we’d get back to our cars in time. Lot closes at 4:30pm.

Every hill up was met by a hill down.

It ended up being a miserable hike.  But we found each other and made it back to our cars with 10mins to spare.

We did find 2 USGS markers on El Cajón but no peak sign. There was a peak sign for El Captain.

I was completely drained after this hike. Definitely not my favorite. Would not do with kids.
