Third annual Mission Peak hike

This was an absolutely gorgeous day to hike Mission Peak. The weather was beautiful. It only got a little bit warm towards the top. It was perfect hiking weather.

Started at 7:00 am and finished at 10:00 am.

There were a ton of animals out and about. Lots of cows mooing, and baby cows doing there baby moos. We were even lucky to spot a cow running. Not something I was expecting to see. No snakes were spotted, but I did see a gopher poke his head out.

The hike is strenuous,  but I love the challenge.  The final push to the peak is probably the steepest and toughest spot to climb, but the whole hike is essentially one giant steep incline with a few flatter sections sprinkled in.

The view from the top is beautiful as always, and now that I’ve tackled Mount Diablo, it’s fun looking at it from atop Mission Peak with that challenge under my belt.

Easily my favorite hike in the Bay Area.
