To the top of Mt. Tam and back!
Also on this hike
An awesome hike in the Bay Area. The weather conditions were ideal for the summer— slightly cool in the morning, warranting light layers that one could then easily remove as desired. A good majority of the trail was nicely shaded, keeping temps consistently comfortable. Trail was also in great condition, with a variety of options to get to the top. So glad I traveled with a friend with an internal compass (and offline maps), as I could easily have gotten turned around or taken a longer route than necessary. The scenery was beautiful and honestly postcard perfect. We took steep ravine and dipsea back down. Encountered the ladder on our way down, which was fun to descent, with the caveat that if you happen to coincide with groups coming up, you’ll have to wait your turn! You’re rewarded later on the trail as it opens up to a gorgeous site of the water/shore before you reach the parking. I think this is my all time favorite hike thus far!
