Trifecta: Pinos, Sawmill and Grouse Mts

The trails are completely snow free. And warm. I spend the night at McGill Campgrounds between the Jeffrey Pines (Hi Jeff!) and did the 3 peaks challenge for the day. I wanted to practice some map reading and rely less on GPS. Practice is indeed needed… I added a few miles to the trip for a total of 18 miles. All beautiful, though. Mostly around 8000 feet high, and the elevation gain (3400 ft) comes in segments throughout, rather then having all in the first half of a hike. Saw a couple of roadrunners, that was cute.
