Great trail with good signage. The trail is closed at the very top so you need to take the alternate route up the parking lot stairs to the summit. Lots of trees so I imagine even in summer there should be good shade. I added on some extra length by doing Bald Mountain as well (easy trail from the parking lot, but much more exposed to sun).
