Volcan Mountain

This was a great hike, the weather was cool, the scenery was awesome, and the trail was well maintained.

It is always interesting to learn the history of the area while out and about, some cool points of interest along the way to the summit was the remains of an outpost building and an old beacon tower.

360-degree views from the summit were awesome, colder and very windy but much better than the snow predicted for tomorrow ????

I took the Five Oaks trail on the way back down, this was a great little offshoot trail,  narrow with lots of switchbacks, it had some great views. I think I like this trail for the ’going up’ trip, it’s more technical and would be a good workout hiking up.
