This is a well maintained, easy-to-follow trail. We started the trail at 7am and the sun was low enough to be filtered by the trees along the trail. This would be a very hot hike if the sun was directly overhead. We encountered an easily deterred coyote and a small (non-rattle)snake. It took us about two and a half hours to complete the trail with a few water breaks.
