Easy afternoon post work hike at Volcan mountain – as a Ramona resident, this is nearly my backyard and very easy to get to.  Plenty of parking at the trailhead and very well labeled signage.  Trail is immaculately maintained and was so peaceful, I encounter a total of 3 people the entire time.  Steep ascent made for a great afternoon workout leading up to longer weekend hikes and I am adding this to my rotation for weekday training hikes.  Preserve land lends for great views of east county.
