Vulcan Mountain was Roaring

Hiked Vulcan MTN trail then took the Five Oaks Trail fork at the half mile mark. This direction is 0.1 miles longer but has switch backs that make the climb easier and the best views. Trail was frim, a few muddy spots that were easy to avoid.  The wind was moving fast, at least 25mi/hr. The trees were rustling and the wind shouded like a jet engine. At the summit, beautiful view of the valley, desert and salton sea. Total distance from Farm Road was 5.5mi.
