Intermittent snow - not hard to cross
No problems with the road to the trail head. It is wide open even though Apple Maps and Waze thought otherwise. I just told my GPS I was heading to the ski resort and kept going from there. The Wally Waldron tree is incredible as are many others along this trail. Saw a couple of snow plants and a few other wildflowers. Start early because it can get hot! Real nice view of Iron Mountain from the road just before the trail head.
