We tackled Wanda (Etiwanda) and Cookie (Cucamonga) as a dayhike from Icehouse.
The trail was clear of any snow up to the saddle but had a few parts that were washed out and damaged in the recent storm.
From the saddle, intermittent ice patches skirting Biggie (Bighorn) to the second saddle before starting the switchbacks to Cookie (microspikes required).
More icy patches up the switchback and by the time you get to the north exposure it’s basically fully covered in snow and ice.
When we arrived at the junction between the short run up to the Cookie summit we turned to Wanda and broke trail to Wanda summit (crampons and helmet required), no boot trail or any markings of activity were present along any part of the way, route finding required and a mix of faceted snow, ice and rock made it a challenging stretch to the summit.
From Wanda summit we took the boot track we laid back to the “valley” section and from there straight-lined it to the Cookie summit.

Stats for the day were ~14.5 mi, ~5400′ gain, 10:22 hrs C2C
