Warm Afternoon Hike

Temps were in the high 70’s, which most people consider great weather, but way warmer than I’m used to hiking in!  There was a nice cool breeze which really helped. Lots of flowers, lots of bees, butterflies, dragonflies, birds and lizards.  Lots and lots of lizards!  Was greeted by a Coyote as soon as I got to the parking.  Saw a family of quail with the tiny little baby chicks on the way up and again on the way down.  Even saw a momma deer with her baby on the way down!  This was a very naturey hike!  Taking my time with the challenge this year, so this was only my third peak.  Was going to hit three peaks in three days since I’m training for a backpacking trip next month, but I didn’t wake up early enough to head out to today’s planned hike of Saint Helena, so maybe I’ll do something closer to home today and hit Mission Peak tomorrow as planned ????
