After a car accident related detour took us 3 extra hours through Prescott and Jerome, we finally got to the trailhead at 10:30, missing our moderately decent weather window. It was at this point I realized I’d left my running vest with my bladder, flasks, salt tabs, and ice bandana in the garage at home. Not to be deterred, I grabbed a shopping tote, threw several bottles of water from the cooler, and away we went. It was hot as hell, steep as fuck, and we absolutely crushed it. Also may have invented the Hiking Tote.
