Windy with an off road twist

First time on this lovely, remote and rugged trail. Amazing to think it’s so close to South Mountain, yet so far to drive! Took us 1 1/2 hours from Ahwatukee, and it’s hard to find a good route plan. Definitely worth it though… trail is well defined, extremely quiet and fantastic views. The top section is a fun, but not difficult, and a great scramble.
Getting back, we made the mistake of using Google maps… thankfully we were in a Taco 4×4, and I love off roading. Still, came to a standstill 3 miles short of any gravel road and had to retrace our tracks. Redirected ourselves to the local airfield, which is a much easier route out.
