Mt St Helena was my last peak in 2021 and now 2022. I regretted driving straight back last year and promised myself I would stop at a winery. Past Ben was a genius! It’s way better!

The hike itself is rather straightforward and follows a dirt service road. Great views all trip and the tracks of a big animal (black bear?) in the snow makes me think the wildlife agrees.

I was recommended food at a Mexican food truck at the geyser in Calistoga. Envy wines let me eat my food there while enjoying their tasting menu. Great wines and food, perfect post-$hike treat!

I usually only do this hike once a year but I think that needs to change.
