Who is planning to travel to view the solar eclipse?
I have some friends who are planning a backpacking trip in the Cascades during the eclipse. I’ve also heard dire warnings of highway gridlock as people try to make their way to the “path of totality.”
Personally, I’m going to be in the Bay Area during the eclipse, where we’ll get to see a partial eclipse (about 80%) — if it’s not foggy or cloudy.
For those of you who ARE going to be traveling, or are curious, the Washington Post created a cool tool to see the path of the eclipse as it travels across the country. Check it out: https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/national/mapping-the-2017-eclipse/
