Started with Strawberries
First peak of the Challenge! First 2.5 miles to the summit was a breeze, but definitely had to scramble up the last mile or so
Peak #1: Mt Umunhum
Relatively easy hike with lots of shade. Recommended to start early (parking lot opens at 7am) if hiking in big groups since parking is limited.
Take 5 Oaks Trail
Took the fire road up and 5 Oaks Trail on the way down. Beautiful manzanitas and cedars. Super windy and cold at the top. Great
Missed the earthquake by a day!
We had a very chilly start (the drive through Warner Springs area said 29 degrees) but we warmed up really quick on the first 2-mile
Mount Saint Helena
We started at 4am to reach the summit by sunrise. Easy total of about 9.6 miles
