Hello,

I'm Aiden Wiedenman and I am 13 years old, doing the six-pack for the third time. We did San Jacinto on an 11.5-mile day and after that, we stopped for burger king at the Cabazon dinosaurs. My dad and I woke up at 5 am to meet my friends from boy scouts and do the hike, surprisingly less than half the people that were expected to be there were actually there.  After waiting a few minutes to see if anybody else showed up, we got in my mom's Chevy suburban and drove for an hour till we got to the tram station about 6:45 am. We tried to get tickets with our discount cards when we got there but realized that the ticket booth did not open until 7:00 am. We sat around, and when the booth opened we got our tickets and got on the tram. I've been on the tram many times before but it was still exciting to swing as we passed the towers. When we got to the mountain station we got off and started hiking, when we got to the permit hut I filled one out and continued hiking with my group. The rest of the hike went pretty normal, at the top I was exhausted and took a short nap with my space blanket. While we were at the top we checked out the ski hut witch was pretty cool. On the way down one of my friends seemed to be suffering from high-altitude cerebral edema (elevation sickness caused by brain swelling). He popped some ibuprofen and kept hiking, although at a slower pace. We later found out that he did not eat breakfast and assumed that was the cause of the dizziness and nausea. At one point I got so far ahead that I sat down because I could not hear my dad talking to one of his friends that he brought on the hike. I pulled out my book and it took a full ten minutes for them to catch up. We rode the tram down and as we were driving home we stopped at a Burger King for dine-in and ate like pigs we were so hungry. We got back to my house about 5:30 pm and all of my friends got taken home and that was the end of the day.
