It was challenging, with more scrambling on rocks than I had imagined. I'm more used to slightly longer hikes zigzagging up the mountain so the quick elevation gain straight up is dizzying. But it was a lovely hike with friendly people all along the trail, the 360-degree views and — the piece de resistance — a Christmas tree at the top.
