Started early in the morning – weather was cold and foggy. Made my way up without too much trouble until I reached the base of the peak itself, just 0.4 miles / 400 vertical feet to go. It was at this point that I had to turn back earlier in May because I hadn't budgeted enough time. The last 0.4 miles is somewhat of a scramble and slower getting down than getting up. This time I had no cutoff and made my way to the top. Unfortunately with the fog, there was no view. But it really is a great trail all the way, no bugs that I remember. I took the Bear Ridge Trail going back to add some new scenery and about 1.0 extra miles (10.2 total). Felt great, will do again on a clear day.
