Not really though. Accustomed to climbing at Helens in March and April, I expected far more heat and dust than we got. I imagine it helped that we set out at 4:25am. It took us 3 hours, 38 minutes to reach the crater rim which was surprising fast for how slow I felt. Weather was perfect with a lovely breeze to keep us cool on the way up. Got much hotter on the way down. Was technically still possible to glissade, but not having ice axes or better traction, we opted to hoof it down.
