This was supposed to be my 6th and last from the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge, but due to fire closure at San Bernadino, I hiked it early. This was the second time I summited the San Gorgonio peak but the first time via Vivian creek, before this I hiked it via the South fork creek route on 25th July 2021.
When I applied for a permit I got a date after 1 month, but it was worth the wait. I reached the parking lot at 5.15 am and started to hike at 5.30 am. I reached the peak at 10.30 am including the break.  Lots of parking places were available at that time. The weather was good but chilly, but it didn't concern me once I started hiking.
The trail is well maintained and the views are beautiful and inspiring. The trail is shaded until the last few miles. I would recommend doing this hike every year at least once. I feel acomplished after summit the highest peak of Southern California and that feeling is priceless.
