Talk about your crazy hikes! First, there was ABSOLUTELY no place to park at our original trailhead and we had to find another trail. That put us an hour and a half late starting. At our new start point, we met a gentleman 20+ years our senior who was hiking alone and had already done the peak 50 (50!) times. He joined on as our “trail guide” and was our companion for the day. The first mile and other circumstances almost convinced one member of our party to quit, but she rejoined us at the top with little more than an hour delay. (Note that we STARTED late, to). Fast forward past sunset, and we kept coming across unmarked cutoffs. Which way? Only way we got off that mountain without getting lost was George's knowledge of the trail. God provides!
