Definitely not an easy hike!  Started at 745am and ended just before 8pm. Yup!  That means the last three hours were done in the dark!🫠

The day started with us being greeted by at least 30 turkeys in the parking lot along with about a dozen deer.  Saw lots of other birds throughout the hike, even a bunch of quail we startled out of a tree after dark, but didn’t really see any other wildlife until night time, when we saw a couple of newts on the trails and a pair of eyes shining green in my headlamp’s beam.  Looked it up, cats, dogs and raccoon’s eyes reflect green, so I’ll just say it was a raccoon!😃

We took about a 30 minutes break up on Rose Peak, signed the logs (found my signature from 4/12/22!😁) and then made our way back.

This was my 8th Bay Area Peak, just missing Berryessa, which I’m hoping to claim on Christmas!
