It was a beautiful Saturday morning and our group quickly realized that we should have gotten to the parking area earlier because the place was packed! We ended up parking .75 miles from the trail head and adding some overall distance to our hike. All was good in the end though. We enjoyed hiking in the shade for majority of the trail. My calves are very sore from the downhill trek back to the car. Totaled almost 15 miles for the day. What a great start to the six pack of peaks challenge!
