Me and my husband decided our first hike for this challenge would be Sitton Peak. We started the hike just south of the Ortega Oaks Candy Store. Was able to buy a day parking pass at the candy store. We parked at the lot across the street from the trailhead. Was a nice, sunny, and clear day. Nice, moderate uphill for most of the hike. Along the way we ran into several others who complimented our shirts (we were wearing the six-pack of peaks challenge tees). We also met a few fellow challengers! Less than a mile from the peak, had to scramble all the way up. Was so challenging, but made for a great reward once we reached the peak. Beautiful views and some yummy food at the top! Coming back down to the trailhead was a mostly steady, downhill trek. Once we made it back to the car, I was ready for a nap! Great first hike to start the 2020 year.
