Gorgeous weather, much cooler than in the valley. It was around 80* when we finished but there was enough intermittent breeze throughout the hike to keep us from overheating. There is shade for much of the way, but wear sunscreen as the sun can get intense. The way out is 90% uphill with some punishing grades. The scree field about 3/4 way to the top was a little sketchy and the scramble in the chute higher up was also. I’m happy I had some experienced folks with me to offer the best route and encouragement. Views at the top were incredible – we could see the strip and water in Lake Mead. Sliding down the scree on the way down was super fun! All in all, the hike wasn't as horrible/difficult/scary as I was expecting based on other reviews. The distance back to the car seemed long, but I feel like that always happens.
