I hiked this trail on 5/7/23. Shortly after the rainy season. My mom and I never hiked in the snow before. We definitely had use the proper snow equipment: micro spikes, crampons and ice axe. We also mentally prepared ourselves for it to be a hard hike and it was! The trail past Icehouse Saddle to Cucamonga Peak was no joke with all the snow. We took the Bighorn Peak Trail to connect with Cucamonga Peak Trail. We were lucky to have 3 guys and a dog leave their tracks behind for us to follow! They were the only ones we saw past the saddle. Breathtaking views! The sign was covered in snow somewhere. I plan to do it again just for a picture with the sign LOL. However, I believe what made Cucamonga beautiful was all that SNOW!
