Well, not quite alone, but thanks to an early start I saw only six motorcyclists, eight bicyclists, and two trail runners–no hikers–in seven hours, and I saw them all on the way down. It felt warm at the bottom even before the sun came up, and got pretty toasty on the many exposed sections. I don't hike with gloves in the summer, but wished I had some today, as I was bitten by flies on my hands several times.
