What an amazing hike! This must be one of my favorites so far. Hiking along the ridge was one of the best experiences so far.

Take exit 34B off I-93 to park your car. We arrived at 8:40am on a Wednesday and there was plenty of parking.

We took the Falling Waters trail up to the ridge to potentially avoid hiking down on slippery moist rocks. We passed so many gorgeous waterfalls, I had to stop taking photos, it was just one after another, so very beautiful. It took us 2-1/2 hours to get to Little Haystack. It wasn't too bad of a hike up – a few spots were steep, but the trail has a great mix off steep inclines followed by stretches of even walking.

Another 2 hours including a small picnic and stops for scenic views took us over to Mount Lafayette. We passed Mount Lincoln without really being completely aware of it. There was really no sign or plaque indicating the summit. Hiking up Mount Lafayette was the last steep incline.

We were cruising down Old Bridle Path in 2-1/2 hours. A few spots were we had to get down on our butt and slide down but overall great hike. Old Bridle Path definitely offers more scenic views along the way but would have been a far longer hike up.

This was a heck of a hike. We loved every minute of it.
