What a fun day!

My boyfriend has been watching me chip away at this challenge and decided he wanted to see what it was all about, so he joined me today for his FIRST EVER summit hike!

We began at sunrise and had the summit to ourselves when we arrived. It was a stunning, clear day and the 360 views were unreal. After a nice break, burritos, and beer, we headed back down. It was starting to get nutty at the peak, too!

The shaded trail made for a pleasant descent back down the 40 switchbacks and we were at the car in no time. We stopped at the visitor center (highly recommend!) and got my guy a patch to commemorate his first summit and hit the road home.

It was a wonderful day, and a highly underrated hike! I’ll be happy to revisit this mountain friend!
