What a spectacular hike. We were happy to have a shorter bonus hike this week (we finished all 6 peaks over the past 6 weeks). The weather was good, we were glad we started out when we did (~7:30am) as the climb is exposed in areas and was a lot warmer by the time we were descending (~11am.) The hike is uphill to the peak (not very steep except short segments at the start and near the top) and then a nice descent back down – all on switchbacks. The trail is very well maintained, mostly dirt with no big steps or bouldering required. We had a pretty clear day so enjoyed the great 360 degree view and a snack before descending. There is water at Lamel Spring which is a short offshoot about 2 miles up the trail. Saw quite a few PCT hikers today, you are all inspiring!
