We all got to the trailhead at 4:30am, still dark and all of us wearing our headlamps. By 5am we started trekking away. I have done Ice House Canyon trial many times but never in the dark so it had a different feeling to it. We got to watch the sun kiss the mountains as the sun was rising and being out there so early in the morning was probably the best thing because the mountains and the wilderness have a sense of calmness and peace that early in the morning. The heat kicked in once we got to the summit. This peak was probably the funnest one yet! I was surrounded by friends and my hiking family whom I love dearly! We chatted, got to catch up, laughed and overall I couldn't have been more happier than I was on top of that mountain that day. The hike down was overall pretty good with the exception that my feet started to hurt because of the rocky terrain. Other than that it was such a great peak bagging day! #5 down, one more to go until I reach my #6. But that isn't going to stop me I will still continue to bag peaks until the end of the year. Next year though I'm coming back to complete the original 6!!!!
