This was a late start hike since I started in the afternoon instead of my usual time in the morning. But on the other hand, it wasn't too bad of a hike. From Manker I then headed up to the Ski Hut/Baldy Bowl Trail. There were wildflowers along the trail. And I got to the summit and there weren't too many hikers up there, just a pair of campers and a two other hikers with dogs. I got my picture taken then headed down the Devil's Backbone. On the way down I met friends who were headed up the Backbone to camp at the summit. After spending a few minutes with them and taking pictures I then continued my way to the Notch. The Notch was no longer serving food to go but they did serve drinks, so I had a soda before proceeding down the fire road back to Manker. I didn't need the headlights until around 8:30-8:40 pm but after turning them on, it took me less than an hour before I arrived at my car. And with that I have done my six peaks for the challenge. However I still intend to hike the other peaks in the lineup. So although I did the minimum six, I still will be hiking the other peaks in this challenge.
