Mount Baldy to the the ski hut then summit and down the Devil’s Backbone was amazing!! This is my favorite peak and I had hiked it once before. There were a couple of very small water crossings. I love the gain after reaching the hut. It’s a great workout! The views are nice but the best part is the backbone. I met a hiker named Nick who was 72 and had hiked Baldy 220 times. He was very friendly. Once We reached the summit and headed down it was very windy, gusts around 50mph. With the scree it was challenging to stay up on your feet. The wind blew the bottom of my poles off the ground. Enjoyed a beer once we reached the ski lodge. Such a great hike…I can’t wait to go again and again
